Electrical balance of plant of a thermal power plant is the electrical part of the works of the power plant except the main boiler, turbine and generator package. It covers the electrical system of the EHV Switchyard, coal handing or fuel handling plant, Ash handling plant, Cooling water system, hydrogen generation plant, lub oil plants, fire fighting pump house, Emergency power generators and other parts power plant. All these portions of the power plant receives power at medium voltage like 11kV and then stepped down to 415V for utilisation in different drives, motors, lighting and air conditioning systems. The cabling in these plants are done either in cable trenches or overhead cable trestles.
