Gas turbine power plants are popular where oil and natural gas are available in plenty. Although power generation capacity of Gas turbine (GT) power plants are not very high, but in many communities it serves the power generation needs of the local residential, commercial and industrial loads. The GT generator comes in a package which then gets interconnected with fuel oil system, lub oil system, cooling water circuits, electrical connections such as generator bus duct, unit aux. transformer, generator step up (GSU) transformer, the ehv side of the GSU being connected to the EHV Switchyard or GIS switchgears. The generated power gets evacuated through the EHV Switchyard to the nearest grid station.
