Short circuit force calculation as per IEEE 865 for flexible strung overhead conductors decides the force acting at between phase conductors during and immediately after the flow of short circuit current. Such value helps to verify the ultimate tensile strength of the selected conductor and also helps to design the steel support structure which supports the overhead conductors. In Satcon, we have developed inhouse a formula to calculate such force values for a given substation layout.
