Short Circuit force calculation of Aluminum Tubular bus conductor : Al tubular pipes are used in extra high voltage substations to form main and transfer bus bars and for connecting one Switchyard equipment to another equipment. The Pipe size, inner diameter, outer diameter, thickness, Al alloy material are decided on the basis of feeder or bus bar rated current, as applicable. The sizing is dependent on geographical location, ambient temperature, solar radiation and few other atmospheric parameters. The sag of the AL pipe is one of the major criteria that determines the bus bar support span.
