Short circuit force calculation on strung ACSR, AAC bus conductors determines the force acting in longitudinal and transverse direction on the gantry structures of an outdoor type air insulated substation. The calculation is done as per method specified in IEC 60865, Part 1 and Part 2. Satcon is delivering such calculation in many Substation projects in many countries. This calculation helps to check whether the force created during the flow of short circuit current is well within the ultimate tensile strength of the conductor and also provides input for steel structure design for the substation gantry.
