#Structural design of Multi circuit transmission tower : Quad circuit transmission towers are used in several transmission circuits in many parts of the world. Four nos. 3 phase circuits (12 conductors) are drawn on a single tower. It has some distinct benefits over double circuit towers. It occupies much less right of way space, it carries much more power than other type of towers, requirement of steel, civil and electrical materials are much less and easier to manage by the transmission agency. Disadvantage is that it cannot be used in voltage higher than 132kV. Satcon, over the years, has developed capability to design these type of towers. The design and analysis is done by staad pro connect software and drawings are prepared by Revit software. 3D and 2D both type of drawings can be submitted. It is also possible to submit fabrication drawings and shop drawings of this type of towers.
